A Note on Sliding Scale Pricing:
My goal with the sliding scale pricing is to be more accessible, particularly for low-income individuals and those who need it. I want to create a welcoming space where everyone can prioritize their health and well-being with consistency and care. I trust clients to consider their finances, access to resources, and personal circumstances when deciding how much to pay for a session. I also understand that financial situations can change frequently, so please feel free to use the sliding scale as needed! If you require a lower rate, don't hesitate to use the scale for massage sessions.

Modalities

My massage approach integrates some or all of these modalities considering your comfort and needs. Before the massage, I'll ask you some questions about your goals for the therapy, any problem areas, and health issues. Using these insights you provide I'll tailor the session to address your specific needs!

Deep Tissue

A slower pace and more pressure, though it should not be painful or cause you to flinch. Usually less lotion or oil used, and work goes deeper into the layers of muscles and connective tissue.

One of the most common styles of massage in the US. It is usually full body using soft, gliding and long strokes towards the heart. Can include friction, kneading, tapping, etc.

Proprioception is the awareness of the position of your body in space or of your body’s movement. Neuromuscular means relating to nerves and muscles. Facilitation means to help make easier. The technique uses passive stretching and active resistance aiming to relieve muscle tension and improve flexibility.

You can think of fascia like a spider web. The string tissue is densely woven throughout your muscles, bones, nerves, arteries, veins and organs. Your fascia is one continuous structure throughout your body, and is one of the “newest discovered” organs. Since it is one continuous structure of your body, if there is a snag in the tissue, it can cause pain or restriction in another part of your body. I will break up those adhesions using techniques like skin rolling, cross friction or pin and stretch.

Trigger points are discrete, focal, hyper-irritable spots located in a taut band of muscle. They produce pain locally and in a referred pattern. By applying sustained, direct pressure to a trigger point, it can release tension within the muscle and improve circulation.
